Andrew Caillard MW 2022 Review 2022

    Score of 97

  • Aroma

Lifted and complex bouquet with exotic aromas of white flowers, lemon essence, lychee and oyster shell.

  • Palate

Characters of spice, natural yoghurt, lemon meringue, fresh oyster and truffle are expressed throughout the palate. This wine has great elegance of structure with a perfectly balanced dosage, tannin and acidity.
  • Vintage

Winter rainfall was well above average and the continuing, light spring rains maintained a relatively high soil moisture content to support strong vine growth during the growing season.

  • Food Pairing

Suggestion: Fresh seafood either natural or with a light influence of Asian spices.

Winemaking Notes

Fastidious viticulture and winemaking are applied in crafting this traditional method wine. Maturation for a minimum of 9 years in tirage ensures depth and complexity consistent with the worlds’ finest cuvees.

A spectacular 9 years on tirage/lees. How can a wine of this age be as delicate, fresh and red-fruited as this. A knockout in every respect.
